Emma graduated from Aston University in 1990 where she won the “Worshipful Company of Spectacle-makers” prize for the highest mark in the professional qualifying exams. After qualifying, Emma worked as an Optometrist in Edinburgh, Adelaide in Australia, and Chamonix in France, observing first hand the damaging effects of U.V light at different latitudes around the world. Recently Emma spent time working at the Khmer sight foundation in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, screening the local people for preventable and treatable forms of blindness. Her particular interests lie in Retinal conditions, Children’s eye care, treatment of dry eye syndromes, and Glaucoma, in which she is currently aiming towards the higher professional certificate in Glaucoma.Emma loves to work with people and finding the best solution for all types of visual problems, the more complicated the better!!
